We recently purchased an EZ-Raft from Electric Outboard here in the UK. Our intended use was as a tender to go to shore with the kids and a picnic so that we didn't need to bring the boat in too shallow or have to worry about what the tide was doing.

I had considered some other small tenders but the EZ Raft was the only thing I could find that could be set up within a matter of a few minutes and also pack down small enough that we could leave it on our 28ft Saxdor.

We are a family of 5 and went for the 300 which comfortably fits us all and leaves plenty of room for a few bags and space to control the tiller on the electric outboard (we're using a long shaft e-propulsion Elite).

The EZ raft has 4 chambers which inflate within a minute or less each. If you're familiar with wing surfing, the EZ raft is constructed in a similar way to the luff of a wing-surfing (or winging) wing.

It inflates to a very solid state and isn't flimsy at all. The tubes are over-sized and are designed to be sat on, although our kids are just as happy sitting between them.

Main positives for me are how quick and easy it is to inflate, meaning we don't have to take it anywhere already inflated (it comes with a great electric pump). It's durable with kevlar in the right places to protect it. It can be packed away into the included small carry bag and taken home or as we do, left on the boat.

Overall I strongly recommend it to anyone looking for a lightweight tender and also a big thanks to the guys at Electric Outboard who were willing to take the time to show me how it all worked and answer any questions.

One tip - although we are happy with our e-propulsion unit since we're only travelling short distances, a larger motor could turn this tender into quite the fun toy and also give it a bit more omph for tougher tasks. Again the guys at Electric Outboard I'm sure could recommend something suitable.

The blog also links to the relevant tutorial videos produced by the Momentum team giving simple guidance on each feature.

However we do want to move to electric fully but the Spirit one just can't cope so I'm looking to upgrade it.

Would the Momentum U2 fit? I've looked at the diagrams for the short U2 and that might fit - is it possible to test it?
