We were out doing some videos and testing with our Takacat 260LX and the Momentum U2 2.5kWh motor ...as well as using Roger our demo Rigiflex 360 Momentum M10 powered safety boat and had pulled over for lunch at our mooring just outside Lymington Harbour, when we saw a Cygnet 20 sailing boat getting stuck amongst a moored up boat and its buoy.
I scooted over in Roger to see if they needed a hand and they definitely did! They had a Torqeedo XP on the back which was cool but it looked to be set quite high on the transom with the prop not really buried in the water so they hadn't got the traction to push through the wind and bit of tide and were rather wedged.
We quickly hooked up a line to a makeshift bridle on the back of Roger and using almost no power we were off taking them into the wind and tide with almost no effort at all.
The massive prop and huge torque of the Momentum M10 makes towing large boats or a string of dinghies at your sailing club a breeze. We've towed a large line of sailing dinghies with no problem even filling some with water in very heavy winds and tides.
We will also shortly be posting a detailed review of the Momentum U2 on the Takacat 260LX that we did at the same time giving some insight into this amazing addition to the Momentum family.
